Congratulations on the upcoming Birth of a new little life, Doula services provide all types of births, natural to C-section, hospital, home, birth center in Jacksonville, Saint Augustine.
All women need Birth support.
Birth can be an empowering event in a woman’s life. Labor and birth transform the entire family. The experience can be negative or extremely positive and leave a family changed for life. When a laboring mother and father feel supported and free of fear they are better able to let go and allow labor and birth to flow as naturally as they desire. The Birth Doula helps the partner support the mom through out the birth experience by educating, loving, respecting, embracing, advocating for, and assisting mom prenatally, during labor, childbirth and after. Offering encouragement, comfort measures, and sometimes simply the chance for the birth partner to step out for a walk or a bite to eat. In the end, having a Birth Doula present at a birth almost always results in a more peaceful, comfortable and calm birthing experience for mom, dad, baby, and the entire family.

I provide Certified PCD(DONA) Postpartum care
I have been a parent educator for over 32 years and in that time I have seen the importance of the first days and weeks of parenting. I believe postpartum doula work fulfills a critical need for families, it is “Preventive Education”. As a postpartum doula I know what resources are available in the community, I can make appropriate referrals to the new mother and father when necessary.
Postpartum doulas services provide important information about current best practices and techniques in infant care. Advice to support and teach the important skills new parents need as they begin their most important and challenging journey, parenting!
Some of the most important areas of postpartum support include providing breastfeeding and bottle feeding information and encouragement; offering tips about practical newborn care, development and behavior, providing positive and constructive sibling care, sharing beneficial information and suggesting comfort measures to new mothers about what is happening to them as they heal and what to expect in the next weeks, and being available to answer questions, address issues as they arise, and providing resource and referral information as needed.
